Basic Operator Training
Syllabus – Reach & Counterbalance:
These courses are conducted over a 5 day period and aim to
provide delegates with sufficient knowledge and skill to carry
out their daily duties with safety and efficiency, in line
with the requirements of the Approved Code of Practice. The
training syllabus is based on theoretical and practical elements
incorporating the following modules;
Theory Based Training Modules:
Induction, legislation issues and operators safety code.
Daily inspection, fault identification and reporting procedures.
Hydraulic systems and operating principles.
Operating safety procedures.
Lift truck stability.
Theory test.
The following table lists the other mechanical handling courses
available for operators, all of which are conducted in line
with the Approved Code of Practice. The Safety Awareness course
is designed for those staff having a supervisory role in a
working environment where mechanical handling equipments are
operated. The aim of this course is to ensure such staff are
made aware of the safety aspects and associated hazards of
operating such machinery and comply with the legislative requirements
of regulation 9 of the and Use of Work Equipment Regulations
1998 (PUWER).
